Scholes Misses Out, But Smith Is Back
Paul Scholes is still suffering from blurred vision and will sit out United’s FA Cup trip to Burton Albion on Sunday.
The midfielder has not played since sustaining a blow to the head in the 2-2 draw at Birmingham nine days ago.
Sir Alex Ferguson confirmed Scholes is still feeling the affects of concussion and will not be considered for the third round clash, however, Alan Smith has recovered from a chest infection and is available for selection.
“Scholesy is still suffering a bit from concussion and blurred vision,” Fergie told ManUtd.com.
“It hasn’t eased up so he won’t be risked on Sunday and it’s difficult to say when he’ll be fit to play again.
“He’s certainly a lot better than he was but it’s a matter of letting it ease away.
“Smith is fit and he’ll play,” added the United manager. “The rest of the squad are all fit but I’ll be making changes.”
